R are English Stevens & Williams Cranberry Glass with Patented Zipper Pattern & Patented Box Pleat Crimping Finger Bowl. I found this pattern on p. 166 in Victorian Decorative Glass (British Designs) by M Gulliver. Description: pattern is a registered patent design called Jewelor Zipper.
55693 will be Etched on the bottom of all pieces. Description reads: A small Jewel Pattern bowl in cranberry Transparent Glass. Made in 1886- the pattern is made with machine threading. 16 vertical ribs makeup the pattern-polished Pontil is inscribed with Rd 65693.
Top rim has 6 Box Pleat Crimps. Another patent Registered Design by Stevens and Williams but no Etched RD is found on the bottom. On the bottom is the RD # which is-55693. This is the registered patented number for the Zipper pattern developed during the Northwood era. Mint condition no clouding or staining!Pattern name- Zipper Marked on bottom w/ the Design Registration Mark RG 55693. This was an Acid Etched mark called the registered number system used on British glass produced after 1883.
